Description

The Yervand Margaryan and Nara Arakelyan Band was founded on November 26, 2010, by trumpeter Yervand Margaryan—an Honorary Worker of Culture of Yerevan—and the talented pianist and composer Narine Arakelyan. The "Con Alma" Band has collaborated with renowned musicians from Armenia and abroad, performing at international festivals and concerts on prominent stages both in Armenia and around the world. The group performs in various styles, such as jazz, funk, and folk-fusion. A key criterion is to play music that is melodic and engaging, yet deeply moving. The concerts are consistently successful and win the audience's enthusiastic admiration; consequently, the venues are always packed during the band's performances. The group has collaborated with Armenian television channels (Armenia TV, Yerkir Media, H1) and has recorded three live concert DVDs.
They also recorded an album titled "True Gene," featuring works by Komitas and Sayat-Nova arranged by Nara Arakelyan; this recording has been added to the archives of the Public Radio of Armenia.
